PhD degree, a lengthy process, cannot be accomplished without the passion, hard work and dedication. However, one cannot achieve PhD degree merely by performing a research, the scholar should also pen-down an excellent thesis to accomplish PhD journey. Writing a flawless thesis is a tough nut to crack. The key component that contributes to the thesis is the synopsis (the backbone of the thesis) as it gives a panoramic view of the research. I.e. it gives a summary of the entire thesis, mainly its arguments and conclusion. A synopsis not only displays your knowledge and ability to perform the research to your guide, but also helps you in deciding if an article is relevant to your research, and if it is worth referring.   • Ensure that your research idea, problem or question is clearly stated, persuasive and addresses a gap in the existing literature. Put some time & effort into formulating the research questions in the initial stages of your project, as they can be as important as the findings.
  • Make sure that the synopsis is well structured and organised. Poorly developed synopsis indicates that the proposed project lack crucial aspects and maybe considered as a merely a pile of useless sheets.
  • Ensure that your topic is researchable and has scope in the future. Also make sure that it has the potential to add value to the existing knowledge base. Writing an excellent synopsis by choosing a poor topic doesn’t make sense to your PhD degree.
  • Choose a subject that you are passionate about. This lets you structure and include arguments effectively in your synopsis.
